Samsung UA55U8500HR 55" Crystal 4K UHD LED Smart TV.

The Samsung UA55U8500HR 55" Crystal 4K UHD LED Smart TV brings together Samsung's Crystal UHD picture technology, smart entertainment features and a sleek modern design to create an immersive home viewing experience. Designed with a 55-inch 4K UHD display, this Samsung Smart TV delivers a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, providing four times the pixel count of Full HD and allowing you to enjoy sharper details and clearer images. Samsung equips the U8500H series with the Crystal Processor 4K, which processes and upscales compatible lower-resolution content to deliver enhanced detail and improved picture clarity.

The Crystal Processor 4K is one of the key features of the Samsung UA55U8500HR. It helps optimize picture quality by processing scenes and improving the appearance of detail and color. Combined with 4K Upscaling, the TV can enhance compatible lower-resolution content so that movies, TV programs, sports and other entertainment look clearer on the large 55-inch screen. The TV also features PurColor, which helps produce a wider and more natural-looking range of colors for an engaging viewing experience.

For improved contrast and picture detail, the Samsung UA55U8500HR supports HDR and HDR10+. High Dynamic Range helps reveal more detail between bright and dark areas of an image, while HDR10+ technology can optimize compatible content scene by scene. Samsung also includes Mega Contrast and Contrast Enhancer to help create more depth and definition in the picture. Color Booster further enhances color expression, making compatible content appear more vibrant.

The TV features a 50Hz refresh rate and Samsung's Motion Xcelerator technology, which is designed to improve motion clarity by estimating movement between frames. This can be useful when watching fast-moving content such as sports, action movies and other dynamic scenes. The 55-inch model also supports 2K 120Hz DLG under supported gaming conditions, while Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), VRR and HGiG provide additional gaming-oriented features.

For movie enthusiasts, the Samsung UA55U8500HR includes Filmmaker Mode (FMM). This mode is designed to preserve the intended cinematic presentation of compatible content. Whether you are watching movies, streaming shows or enjoying your favorite TV programs, the combination of a 55-inch 4K display, Crystal Processor 4K, HDR support and Samsung's picture technologies provides a detailed and immersive viewing experience.

The Samsung UA55U8500HR is also designed as a modern Tizen Smart TV. Samsung's Tizen platform provides access to compatible smart TV applications and services while making it easy to navigate entertainment content. The TV supports Bixby, Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, mobile-to-TV functions and other connected-device features. Samsung also provides One UI Tizen and states that supported Tizen OS upgrades will be available for seven years on this series, helping keep the smart TV experience updated over time.

The TV also incorporates Samsung's Vision AI Companion, which is available on supported configurations and markets. Samsung describes Vision AI Companion as an intelligent TV interaction feature designed to provide context-aware assistance and connect AI capabilities with picture, sound and other smart experiences. Availability of individual AI services may vary by country, language, account and network environment.

Audio performance is handled by a 20W 2-channel speaker system with OTS Lite, Adaptive Sound and Q-Symphony support. OTS Lite helps create a more immersive sound experience, while Adaptive Sound can optimize audio according to the content. Q-Symphony allows compatible Samsung TV speakers to work together with compatible Samsung soundbars for a more integrated audio setup. The TV also supports a Dolby 5.1 decoder.

Connectivity is another important part of the Samsung UA55U8500HR. It comes with 3 HDMI ports, including support for 4K at 60Hz on HDMI 1/2/3, along with eARC for compatible audio equipment. There is also 1 USB-A port for compatible devices and media, plus Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. These connections make it convenient to connect gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, soundbars, set-top boxes and other compatible devices.

The TV features Samsung's MetalStream design with a slim, modern appearance and a three-side bezel-less design. The black finish and streamlined profile allow the TV to complement contemporary living rooms, bedrooms, entertainment spaces and office environments. The TV can be used with its included basic feet or mounted on a compatible wall-mount solution.

Security is also considered through Samsung Knox Security on supported Samsung TVs running Tizen. Samsung states that Knox helps protect sensitive information and connected devices, while ongoing security updates are intended to help maintain a safer smart TV environment.

Overall, the Samsung UA55U8500HR 55" Crystal 4K UHD LED Smart TV combines a large 55-inch 4K display, Crystal Processor 4K, HDR and HDR10+ support, PurColor, Color Booster, Motion Xcelerator, Tizen Smart TV, Vision AI features, 20W audio, Q-Symphony, Bluetooth 5.3 and multiple HDMI connections.
